Indian Head MassageIndian Head Massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system. It has been practised in India for over a thousand years. It is renowned for relieving symptoms of stress. Not many are free from stress in today's busy, bustling lifestyle with it's tensions and anxieties. Indian Head Massage is a safe and effective therapy which not only relieves stress and provides relief from aches and pains, but also stimulates hair growth. You sit fully clothed in a chair while your head, neck and shoulders are gently massaged. The head, neck and shoulders are important energy centres within the body. If you are feeling stressed, ill at ease, or angry, tensions tend to build up and accumulate. This can show up as stiff neck and shoulders, headaches, eye strain and, sometimes, the stress can even lead to loss of hair. Indian Head Massage involves working with a gentle and soothing rhythm to relieve this uncomfortable build-up of tension. The effect is not just physical. The effects are felt on an emotional level too. Its calms the mind and spirit and promotes relaxation by relieving the accumulated stress. It puts you in touch with your inner being. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)Meridian Energy Therapy is a non invasive therapy which uses meridian points on the body's energy system to assist in removing emotional issues. The Chinese developed acupuncture, and have used it successfully for thousands of years. Very fine needles are inserted in to certain parts of the body - along the meridians (energy lines) - in order to rebalance the 'chi' or body's energy. Acupressure (Shiatsu) was developed in which, instead of inserting needles, the practitioner simply applied pressure to the major meridian points to obtain results. EFT is a meridian therapy, also without the use of needles, The technique was first introduced by an American psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan, who was also knowledgeable in the art of acupuncture. He stumbled up on it almost by accident. He called his therapy Thought Field Therapy (TFT). It was further developed and refined by Gary Craig, a student of his. He called the treatment Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Meridian Therapies are sometimes referred to as Energy psychology or Meridian-based psychotherapy. They work with the body to free undesired patters in the mind, along with associated negative emotions. Next: About Mark
